A seminar on “Relevance of M.K. Gandhi in Contemporary Times” was organized by the Dept. of Political Science, Shree Ram College, Rampur on 8^thNov 2017. The Principal of Shree Ram College, Rampur, Rameswar Naik, Reader in History, inaugurated the seminar. He throws light on historical perspectives of M.K. Gandhi and his Philosophical thoughts. Dr. R.N. Tripathy, Lect. in Pol. Sc., delivered welcome remarks and conceptual Note on the seminars Topic. Sampad Naik, Head of the Department, chaired the meeting. He puts his point on Gandhian Philosophy. He brought some international and local issues and made the session alive.

This was not only a seminar but also welcome ceremony for the new comers. The new comers were welcomed heartily by the IInd and IIIrd year students. They presented their research papers, which were analysed and reviewed by Dr. Gunanidhi Barik, Lect. in Pol.Sc. He gave many suggestions to the students. Madhusudhan Ratha, lect. in Pol.Sc. gave a concluding remarks and vote of thanks. The meeting had a good interactive session between students and teachers on the topic. Overall, the meeting was a learning experience

Study Tour 22.12.2017

The department of Political Science undertook a Study Tour on 22.12.2017 to visit the Odisha High Court and Odisha Legislative Assembly, which is a part of curriculum in the newly introduced CBCS syllabus. A total number of 70 students both boys and girls visited 10 courts including the court of chief justice of Odisha High court. They also visited the newly inaugurated High Court museum at Cuttack. In the afternoon on the same day, they visited the Odisha Legislation Assembly though the assembly was not in session. This trip was a thrilling experience for the students of the department of Political Science.
